Chief Petty Officer (Eiwan) la ui ki ewe la wiwui'e shepenan Engineering Petty Officer Himpanwei Female Primary Character played by Richard

Eiwan is one of very few Himpanwei to leave their home world. Her name means 'wanderer', a name she earned as a child exploring the forests around her home colony. She works constantly and always has a padd at her fingertips.

In Himpanwei society, child-rearing is a group responsibility. Families live in large groups with children watched over by a group of mothers (preferentially), fathers and grandparents. As children grow, they emotionally attach to one or more adults who may not be their own parents. The parents determine who is within their commune which leads to like-minded communities. When a woman has reached an age where she will not bear more children (medically or by decision), she may remain as a child-minder or pursue a profession or vocation. Eiwan chose to study engineering. There is a Federation school on Pwane where she learned her skills. She worked aboard a few Federation Merchant Fleet vessels, then joined Starfleet.

She had her first child at 12, then again at 14, 15 and 17. She was a child-minder for the next 12 years, when her oldest became old enough to have her own children. She was educated part-time throughout this time and at 39 applied to the Federation school. She completed three years in a practical program before being assigned to a merchant ship.

Ana Ferguson Owner of Second Chances Café Human Female Primary Character played by Mary

Gaspar Head Chef of Sushi Bar Human Male Primary Character played by Anna-Maria

Lieutenant (Junior Grade) Gero Ib Science Officer Specialty in Astronomy Bajoran Male Secondary Character played by Kevin

Gero Ib joined Starfleet Academy at the age of 18. He specialized as a a science officer. As a believer in the prophets, Gero Ib specialized in spacial anomolies and astronomy in order to study wormholes. While in the Academy, Gero also studied a bit of xenobiology. After serving a few years in the Alpha Quadrant, Gero found his way to the Delta Quadrant in order to study the Gerosh wormhole. His goal for studying the wormhole is to figure out if the wormholes are all conduits which are used by the prophets.

It could be a part of his duties along with studying the star, maybe comets every now and then and the wormhole itself. Would you prefer him getting quarters with a view of the wormhole by begging at the Quartermasters office, winning it in a card game, having a girlfriend whose quarters have a view or practically living in a bar with the view? I'd like to give him an intro that shows his motivation, gives other players time to join so that I can populate a storyline with this character.

Lieutenant (Junior Grade) Javra Kel Security Officer Human/Betazoid Female Primary Character played by Karen C

Name: Javra Kel
Gender: Female
Age: 27
Race: 3/4 Human, 1/4 Betazoid
Birthplace: Manchester, UK
Hair Colour: Black
Eye Colour: Brown

Physical Build
Javra is of medium height and build and doesn't have the typical black eye colour that her Betazoid heritage might suggest.

Background
Javra's parents met when Odren Kel was visiting Earth for a Scientific convention. He was half Betazoid scientist in the Betazoid delegation and Mary Swanson was an young student in the audience eager to hear what this group might have to say. Sitting right at the front, her beauty and intelligent questions caught the attention of Odren and he sought her out afterwards, ostensibly to ask her more about the paper she was writing but in reality just to get to know her better. He found himself intrigued and the pair spent the rest of their time together.

Odren promised Mary all sorts of things but when his mother, a powerful woman back on Betazoid learned how her son had been spending his time, she reminded Odren that he was already bonded to Rasadi Voi, from a prominent house on Betazed and that he must return home to honour his contract and break off all ties with Mary and this he did, even after he learned that she was pregnant with his child. Bringing up Javra was a struggling for Mary. She dropped out of university, finding it too difficult to continue whilst caring for a child. Her parents, Anthony and Ruth did what they could to help but none of them had the resources that the Kel family had. When Javra began exhibiting signs of her Betazoid heritage Mary found it even more of a struggle and no-one in the immediate family could be of assistance until someone suggested they move to San Francisco and seek help from Starfleet. They did this and the family was able to find someone to help the child.

Living in San Francisco area it seem natural to Javra to want to join Starfleet when she left school. At first unsure what subjects to specialise in the young woman found herself drawn to security and by the time she left the Academy she was near the top of her class.

Kota Magar Ambassador of the Cardassian Union Agent of the Obsidian Order Cardassian Female Guest Character played by Anna-Maria

Birth date: 2377 25.01
Birthplace: Cardassia City, Cardassia Prime

Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Dark Green
Skin Color: Grey

Distinguishing Features: In general she is a typical Cardassian, although slightly smaller and more lightly built than the average Cardassian female. She has a lot of lean muscle. She moves like a martial artist, thanks to years of training: so her movements are fluid and generally graceful. She has distinctive almond eyes, which are so deep a green they almost appear black. Her long black hair is usually pulled back into a "pony tail": although she will occasionally adopt a more elaborate hairstyle. She tends to wear black or dark colours and favours practical, military style clothing.

Characteristics: Kota is fiercely loyal to Cardassia; to Cardassian ideals and morals (not in that order). While she has an almost rigid adherence to her beliefs & ethics she will go against them if she feels there is a worthwhile need to do so. She feels she has to work to prove herself and to redeem her family's honour. She will almost never talk about her father or her family on his side: she says she only recognises her mother's side of the family. The others do not exist. She is diligent and driven to excel: she will keep at a task no matter how long it takes to complete it. She is loyal to her small circle of friends and relaxes when she is with them. She attempts to treat everyone else with restrained courtesy. She has a dark sense of humour and is not above a practical joke: but only if it is complicated, elaborate and worthy of her time and effort.

History: Kota is the daughter of Evril Konyar and Iril Magar. Her father was a prominent government official and respected by his peers. Her mother was a scientist involved in military research. Kota was born in Cardassia City and had a routine childhood and education. The only distinctive part of her childhood was that she studied martial arts intensively: she was smaller than others and wanted to be able to fight and defend herself. She has learned most weapons forms as well as hand-to-hand combat. She was enrolled in military academy at age 19 and had planned to enter the military. Unfortuntely when she returned home for a brief period she was using her father's computer and discovered he was a member of True Way. Worse: that he had been a long time supporter and then became actively involved. Also that he was helping to hide their activities and was deliberately misleading the government, hiding vital information to protect the group. After some deliberation whether duty to the family or duty to the State was more important, she took the information found in his computer and turned it over to the Central Command. Her father was arrested and in the process her younger brother was found to be a collaborator as well. Kota's mother and her side of the family denounced the father as a traitor. He was executed following a brief but sensational trial, her brother met the same fate. The Konyar and Magar families have nothing to do with each other. the Konyar's regard Kota as a disloyal daughter who should have protected her father. The Magars regard Kota as a loyal citizen of the State and condemn her father as a traitor who met a well-deserved fate. Kota took her mother's name as her own. Her mother later remarried and Kota is quite close to her stepfather. However she felt she would never be able to rid herself of her fathers dishonour while on the Cardassian homeworld. As soon as she was able to she sought a posting offworld, and her stepfather was able to call in favours to arrange this. This is the official story, in reality she was recruited by the Obsidian Order because she demonstrated such loyalty to Cardassia.

While acting as embassy staff and later as Ambassador she has often been part of a field team. As such she has served in various locations considered of strategic importance. Her record of service is patchy and incomplete: and the accuracy is questionable.

Lieutenant Outanyocon Science Officer Specialty in Sociology Human Male Primary Character played by Richard

Outanyocon is ethnically Nahuatl, a direct blood line of the Aztecs. His people struggled to maintain their own cultural identity as the world globalized at the end of the 20th century and Mexican nationalism imposed cultural dominance. Genetic samples were taken from a number of individuals and kept in storage. With expansion into space, a group of Nahuatl colonized a Tehwa:ntin ('home' in the Nahuatl language). To infuse the population with pure genetic samples, the third children of a family would combine a genetic sample with the mother's own DNA. After a number of generations, the genetic diversity was significant and ensured a pure Aztec ethnicity. To augment the genetics, Aztec culture was reintroduced in traditional medicine, philosophy, language and religion.

Warrrant Officer Jamie Erat Polikov Intelligence Officer El-Aurian Male Primary Character played by Dominic

Born in the year 1798 on his homeworld, he lived a normal life and had a relatively peaceful childhood. However his childhood was cut short when the borg attacked (around 1830). He was among those assimilated.

,p> In the year 1898 he was freed from the Borg Collective by an El Aurian known as Guinan. He cannot remember much. He travelled to Earth at the beckoning of Guinan, and settled down to a quiet life in Ireland. He was recruited into the British Army and served with honour in Galipoli, the battle of the Somme, and as an operative during the Russian Civil War. During the interwar period he married a woman named Africa Coleen. They were unable to have any children. He immigrated to the United States in 1929 and lost everything when the Stock Market Crashed. In 1939 he joined the army reserves and attained the rank of Captain by 1941. When war broke out he was sent to the European front. Again as an intelligence operative. His duty was to organize the French Resistance. He fell in love once again with a beautiful woman named Marseille, who tragically died in a firefight in 1943. Early in 1944 he was captured by the Gestapo and sent to Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland. He was tortured and brutalized. He was freed by the Soviets in 1945 and was repatriated to the United States.

The next several centuries were uneventful. He joined Starfleet in 2152. During the Earth Romulan war, Polikov was inducted into Section 31. While participating in several war crimes, Polikov found himself transported into an alternate reality where Earth had been subjugated by the Romulans. He knew that time had been altered. Daniels managed to assist him in escaping this alternative reality and returning to his own, however Daniels ultimately had him removed from Section 31. Instead of crumbling, Polikov applied to join Starfleet Intelligence. In 2268 Polikov saved a man named Jake Reed. This man would eventually give birth to a son named Samuel Reed, who would eventually attain the rank of Admiral. He participated in several battles during the Dominion war and primarily worked as an intelligence gathering asset during the war. Most of his actions are classified under the utmost secrecy.

In November of 2418 Starfleet Intelligence assigned him to serve in a official capacity as a Strategic Operations Intelligence Officer and was assigned to serve on board the USS Discovery. He transferred to OH1 in the Winter of 2420

Doctor Saghder Physician Vaadwaur Male Secondary Character played by Richard

Vaadwaur are cobra-like in appearance which can be unnerving for many mammalian species.

The species was believed extinct after they're worlds were bombarded by the Turei. Hundreds were revived by USS Voyager under Captain Janeway and escaped into Underspace. In subsequent years, their people have appeared although their current homeworld is a closely guarded secret.

Doctor Saghder was a soldier in the Medical Regiment of the Vaadwwaur Battalion. His Patrol was decimated by the Devore and was enroute to a Detention Camp but managed to escape. He travelled undocumented for some time and made his way to a Federation colony where he was able to gain credentials to practice medicine as a Federation civilian. He has never since encountered another Vaadwaur although stories of his people abound.

Saghder is acutely aware of his appearance and does what he can to ease his patients. He practices general medicine. He is solitary in his off-hours.

Ensign Sandar Navigation Officer Ekosian Male Primary Character played by Theunis

Species: Ekosian,
Place of Birth: Ekos,
Gender: male,
Age: 29 years,

Physical Appearance:
blue eyes, of average height with athletic build. Black hair done in a military style haircut. Scar running from forehead to left ear running above his left eye.

Academy major: Helm/Piloting,
Academy minor: Electrical and computer engineering,

Hobbies:
A fond historian Sandar likes to visit historic places and learn as much of history as possible. Helping as an archaeologist and volunteer at dig sites in the little off duty time he gets.

Psychological Profile:
Being an Ekosian means he can be very aggressive when it comes to his decisions but past experience has made him think about his actions more often then most of his race. A quiet yet intense man he is still prone to act fast and aggressive he has a slightly bitter look at life. Even so Sandar still holds up honor and duty and is known to be very loyal to the few friends he has made during the year after leaving Ekos. The Social and Ethics part was also one of the reasons that made him at first hesitant to join Starfleet but his sense of duty and seeking a greater purpose in life, and having seen what Starfleet is about made him join the Fleet.

Personal History:
Being born on Ekos, a world in which the Prime Directive was disregarded, and a government much like 1930's Germany was established several centuries ago, still weighs heavily on the conscience of many Ekosians. The relationship with the Zeons is still strained and as such Sandar, like many of his friends and family served in the military at a young age.

Joining the Ekos Yought Party at a young age like many of his generation in preparation for service he was noted to be an aggressive pilot willing to take risk when playing in wargames. Later on he joined the Ekosian Space Forces as a pilot and was part of several skirmishes with Zeon Forces. Here his aggressive streak earned him praise from his superiors and infamy by enemy pilots.

Being on the rise in the military this changed when he got orders to shoot down a fleeing and unarmed Zeon freighter. When he ignored his orders he was promptly shot at by fellow pilots and injured in the proces. Receiving his scar disfiguring his face. Demoted and and kicked out of the Space Force and his family disowning him, he took a posting on the first merchant out of the system intend on starting a new life. A life that made him come in contact with Starfleet, a place he thinks he would fit in.

The shock of integrating into a multi race organisation was something that took a lot of effort and almost made him leave the academy. Even so his instructors and fellow cadets took great effort to change his ethics. Even now he sometimes can come across as aloof or even hostile but takes great effort to move away from his past beliefs.

Ilko Seket Scientist Specialty in Chemistry Agent of the Obsidian Order Cardassian Female Primary Character played by Anna-Maria

Ensign Ariana Serota Exchange Officer Delta Freedom Alliance Science Officer Specialty in Geosciences Human Female Primary Character played by Devon

Ariana had not set out to be as adventerous as she has become. She was content to study plate tectonics and stay aboard ship. Her field of choice was chosen so that she didn't have the pressure of away missions and fast moving decisions. She could stop for tea, and not worry about changes in her research; rocks do not move that quickly.

Her experiance aboard Cromwell changed that. Forced into action by circumstance, she proved she could rise to the occasion on her initial missions which included time travel and fighting Borg. She did not have the confidence though, and put her resignation in at the completion of her cadet tour. Captain Sesgaard refused to accept it at that time, instead challenging her to sing one song, and he would then accept her resignation. He knew she had been a singer when she was young, and the one song he requested told of taking chances. As she sang that song, she realized what he had done, and what she had done, and withdrew her resignation.

Knowing she needed to go out and explore on her own, Ariana requested Duty at the Dyson sphere, and was granted DFA Exchange officer status to serve at Sentinel Station.

History:
Ariana is settling into Sentinel Station. She has encountered a murder victim, and worked along side her friend, Eiwan, the Starfleet chief engineer of Sentinel Station, on investigating cyber attacks on the Sentinel stations computers. She investigated volcanic activity within the Dyson sphere, which proved to be a faulty piece of machinery transporting building materials to the sphere.

Ariana has worked with the Lacosians on repair of a faulty geo wormhole transporter, explored the catacombs with an ecologist to ascertain the Lacosian position regarding the Kharian. (Negotiations were way above her pay grade and she slipped out of those).

Current Status:
Studying dust particles for Lt Hondrick. Just heard they would be heading to a Brown star and applied for a berth to serve aboard the ship.

Emily Skye Civilian Human Female Primary Character played by Mary

Station Artificial Intelligence of Sentinel Station Primary Character played by Tabitha

Distinguishing Features:
Station presents itself as a hologram when it is communicating with others, it emerges initially as a glowing blue orb before forming into a humanoid figure. The figure is still electric blue, it has large bright blue eyes and is eliminated by the same blue glow from its orb form. The image was created by Bynars and so Station’s hologram looks androgynous. Its voice is high pitched but slower than Bynar voices tend to be and Station sounds tranquil and relaxed when it talks.

Characteristics:
While the software was not designed to be sapient it showed signs of being so right from the start, signs its creators more or less ignored or denied in order to push for its approval by Starfleet. Station is curious and immediately wanted to know who and what it was, it appears to have some sense of humour, usually dry and sarcastic. It genuinely cares about the people on the Station although this was a part of its programming and is therefore not likely a manifestation of its sapience.

Background:
Station (or SSU3.2, Station Software Update 3.2) was designed by the Bynar quartet 101, 110, 111 and 0001 at the Starfleet Cybernetics department in San Francisco. Its Sapience is likely accounted for by the fact that the group of developers used a coding structure loosely based the EMH Mark 1 combined with the android Thirteen’s coding which was available from her creator Dr Murphy, both ‘none sapient’ systems acquired sapience, the same can be said for the DW holograms on the DFA Cromwell B.

The Bynars did genuinely believe they had removed the codes responsible for sentience before adding them to Station however consciousness is not an easily detectable thing. Station was designed to learn and adapt and it did that a little too well. It was initially tested on Stardate 2410.01.01 on a console in the facility and went through routine tests required by Starfleet throughout the next 8 years, most of which were simulations rather than actual activation of the software which, being an update, could not really run without a station or a starship to house it. The first real - life test of Station was on Stardate 2418.02.21 and Station considers this as its ‘birthday’, if asked it will say ‘it is the day that my mind connected with my body’ and although Station has a few fragmented memories from before that day its arrival on the Sentinel Station was the first time it was really ‘alive’.

These characters should only be tagged with the permission of their player. If a Primary Character can fulfill the needs of the story, it should be tagged preferentially to Secondary Characters.

Guest Characters appear rarely. They are a prestige role, such as a Fleet Admiral or a Klingon Chancellor. These characters must be tagged only with the permission of their player.

Non-Player Characters (NPCs) are recurring background characters. They provide consistency from story to story as familiar names. Any player may write for an NPC but the CO should be informed when a player does so.
